Purpose: The Consultant, Talent & OD, will support the development and adoption of talent management practices that enable Behr employees around the world to grow, develop and contribute to organizational success. The individual in this role will do so by managing initiatives to entrench best-in-class performance development, career development, manager/leader development, and team effectiveness throughout Behr. This will be achieved by closely collaborating with HR Business Partners and business leaders.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage talent management initiatives, pertaining to performance management, career development, and leadership development end-to-end, including project planning and change management.
  • Take steps to ensure the sustainability of talent initiatives in the areas of performance development, career development, and manager/leadership development. 
  • Serve as an internal consultant on performance, talent and organization development projects; partner with HR Business Partners to conduct needs assessments, organization listening, and provide diagnostic perspectives and recommendations. 
  • Design and implement or facilitate learning/developmental journeys for target audiences in order to drive engagement, growth, and performance.
  • Partner with the International People Services staff and regional HR teams to integrate and apply globally consistent practices; provide consultation on the tailoring of programs for unique regional and local needs. 
  • Design and develop learning resources (training materials and job aids) for managers, employees, and HR Business Partners.
  • Collaboratively manage the engagement survey process.
  • Consult with HR Business Partners on interventions to address issues surfaced through feedback channels, including the engagement survey.
  • Manage vendor relationships for talent management systems.
  • Identify metrics to evaluate the success of talent management initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, or I/O psychology is a plus
  • 5 – 7 years’ experience in talent management strategy implementation in the areas of performance management, career development, manager and leader development
  • Change management education and experience a plus
  • 7+ years’ experience in a business environment
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Demonstrated success with internal consulting, facilitation, and design of talent management interventions
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and sound business judgment
  • Ability to comfortably flex between working independently and working collaboratively with People Services and business partners
  • Stays current with trends, research and best practices in adult learning, talent development, and organizational development
  • Experience in the use of e-learning and blended learning technologies is a plus
