Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Directly responsible for the purchasing of raw materials and finished goods in the Milgard location: including all aspects of the current process (Purchasing, Part Maintenance, Acknowledgements/Pricing, AP, Discrepant Materials and Vendor Contact). Assist the Materials Manager to maintain proper inventory levels through reorder points, appropriate usage and cycle counts. Direct involvement in location Physical Inventories including data processing and auditing.


KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of the job.
  • Generate purchase orders as required by Bill of Materials, stock supply on hand and inventory count.
  • As material is received, update HFA to reflect receipt.
  • Process discrepant material report as required and/or requested.
  • Reflect Milgard business values and Philosophy in all business interactions.
  • Research vendors and suppliers and their respective pricing to ensure Milgard is getting optimum value.
  • Prepares, reviews and distributes daily reports.
  • Research all backorders issues and expedite product as necessary.
  • Creates and executes MPS plans, meets MPS commitments and works within the guidelines of MPS; reflects Milgard’s business values and the Milgard philosophy in all business interactions.
  • Incorporates Milgard’s vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard philosophy.
  • Adheres to all facets of safety policies and procedures.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Advanced PC experience in Windows and AS/400 environments preferred.
  • 3 plus years purchasing and/or inventory control experience required.
  • 2 plus years vendor relations experience required.
  • Strong math/relational data interpretation and use of metrics & measurements to track/graph issue progression and substantiate outcomes preferred.

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Formal Training

  • Purchasing Certificate desired
  • Four-Year Degree in business, finance, or materials mgmt preferred. Minimum of 2 years formal college education in business, finance, or materials mgmt required.
  • APICS certification preferred.
