Position Summary:

The Benefit Analyst contributes to the corporate team responsible for planning, designing, implementing and administering a suite of competitive, cost effective benefit plans that helps attract and retain talented employees across Masco companies. The Benefit Analyst builds and leverages relationships with business unit customers as well as internal and external corporate and vendor partners to accomplish key initiatives. The Benefit Analyst provides consultative support for and administration of all health and welfare and retirement plans, including medical, dental, vision, employee assistance, disability, life, flexible spending, voluntary benefit, 401(k) and profit sharing.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with manager, colleagues and vendors to develop, recommend and execute benefit strategies that maximize plan performance, mitigate cost, add value to the employee experience, and improve processes
  • Serve as benefit consultant to assigned business units, leveraging relationships with business unit and corporate partners as well as plan vendors and external resources to deliver effective solutions
  • Manage assigned vendor relationships to drive issue resolution and performance measures; analyze plan and service results regularly and systematically; coordinate RFPs and prudently utilize consultant resources
  • Prepare and deliver a range of communications each plan year to varied audiences (examples: presentations to business unit management, open enrollment materials, employee meeting presentations, and topical multi-channel updates to diverse groups of employees)
  • Utilize subject matter expertise to analyze trends, best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing competitiveness and compliance, and to troubleshoot and implement solutions for escalated benefit issues
  • Occasional travel (10% - 15%)

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or a related field
  • At least 3 years of benefits experience with health and welfare and 401(k) plans
  • Understanding of regulatory framework (including, but not limited to: ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, PPACA, FMLA, and benefit-related DOL and IRS regulations)
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to work independently with attention to detail and sense of urgency, and the ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple projects, customers and deadlines at the same time
  • Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs, collaborate with colleagues to meet those needs, and develop and leverage effective relationships with colleagues, customers and partners at various organizational levels
  • Proven ability to think critically about data to help formulate conclusions for management decision making, and proven experience in analyzing, interpreting and presenting information utilizing Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
