Duties & Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:

  • Learn basic lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, design for manufacturing and assembly and data analysis skills through hands-on projects
  • Using data gathering and data analysis, identify, specify and implement cost savings projects under the guidance of an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineer
  • Identification of appropriate application of advanced manufacturing technologies to drive safety, quality, delivery and cost improvements
  • Assist New Product Development Integration Managers with engineering design event preparation, coordination and facilitation
  • Participate on continuous improvement events at the manufacturing facilities &/or the corporate location

Additional Opportunities:

  • To support and assist the Advanced Manufacturing Engineering group to achieve manufacturing productivity and cost improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Automation or related degree program
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement programs
  • Computer Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Additional Information:

You will be in our Indianapolis office off Meridian and 106th street, but will travel to our plants in Greensburg, IN, Lapeer, MI, Morgantown, KY, and Jackson, TN. This is a paid co-op with potential of increase based on performance each semester.
