Position Summary:

To support Masco’s exciting innovation and strong brands, our Legal Department has an opening for an Intellectual Property Administrative Assistant who is detail oriented and enthusiastic. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage our IP docketing software system and U.S. electronic IP filings.
  • Review, analyze and distribute incoming intellectual property correspondence, docket and route as required.
  • Review and maintain dockets while ensuring accuracy.
  • Create and manage records for new matters.
  • Prepare IP reports for business clients and attorneys both routinely and ad hoc.
  • Perform administrative tasks for the IP Group with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Manage outside invention submissions.
  • Correspond with clients, attorneys and staff and respond to inquiries.
  • Maintain records of executed agreements for the enterprise.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • 5+ years of intellectual property docketing and administrative experience at an in-house law department or outside law firm.
  • Experience with IP docketing systems (IPManager preferred) and document management systems.
  • A high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability and enthusiasm.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly detailed knowledge of MS Office applications (Word; Outlook; Excel; PowerPoint).
  • Excellent judgement and uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Past experience conducting trademark and patent searches utilizing tools such as and CT Corsearch.
  • Proficiency in foreign filing requirements for patents and trademarks.
