Job Summary:


Exciting accounting intern summer internship opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of building products in the kitchen and bath segment. The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful, professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential. Interns will have the opportunity for meaningful contribution to the host department’s business objectives while experiencing personal professional development.

The accounting internship will be based in Ann Arbor, MI at Masco Cabinetry’s Headquarters. The Intern’s primary role will be to work with the team on daily activities such as journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and month end tasks.


The Intern will have the opportunity to work on the following types of projects:

  • Support on-going day to day accounting activities
  • Preparation of Journal Entries
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Set up and maintenance of month-end close checklists
  • Preparation of monthly journal entry log and metrics
  • Support implementation of new BI / ESSBase tools into the accounting, reporting & forecasting processes
  • Support Fixed Asset accounting and physical inventory process
  • Support Sales & Use tax processes and related state audits

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, finance, or related field
  • Major GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Completed at least three years of college education prior to start of internship
  • Ability to effectively express thoughts/ideas through written and verbal communication
  • Analytical and creative problem solving abilities
  • Ability to develop positive working relationships in a cross functional team environment
  • School and/or work experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Leadership experience, including involvement in related student organizations
  • Previous related internship experience
