Brasstech, a subsidiary of the Fortune 500 Masco Corporation, is a leading manufacturer of decorative high-end plumbing fixtures. We are looking for an Laboratory Supervisor.

The Laboratory Supervisor, under the direction of the Finishing Manager, this person will be responsible for initiating, developing, advancing, and improving all methods, processes, procedures, equipment, and practices that relate to the safe, high quality, and efficient processing of products at Brasstech. The individual will organize the daily activities of a laboratory, and assure that all necessary inventories of chemicals & reagents used in the laboratory and in the process tanks are maintained. The Laboratory Supervisor will be required to interface with Suppliers frequently on all troubleshooting efforts and special projects; perform chemical analysis of plating solutions, make process adjustments according to analysis results, troubleshoot plating processes, and be a backup for Wastewater Operator (when needed); and, be able to communicate with cross-functional Team members on a regular basis.


  • Maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed.
  • Purchase laboratory supplies, such as chemicals, when supplies are low or near the expiration date.
  • Perform chemical analysis of plating process solutions and recommend necessary adjustments to solution in order to maintain process control.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope and complexity. Exercise judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
  • Analyzes, identifies, and resolves production line problems effectively using design of experiments and other techniques.
  • Understand wastewater treatment process and water recovery system and assure that all equipment is properly running at optimum capacity.
  • Document all laboratory work in prescribed format.
  • Ability to interface with Federal, State, and local regulatory agency personnel.
  • Assures that the laboratory remains in compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Maintains the laboratory in good housekeeping order according to OSHA and environmental guidelines
  • Adheres to and promotes all company safety rules and requirements.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Finishing Manager.


  • Direct management of a team of a minimum of four (4) employees in laboratory & wastewater area, and indirect management of shift
  • Delegate and hold Team accountable for completing their assigned tasks in a timely manner.
  • Assure the Lab & WWT Operators support and maintain operations running by keeping processes at optimum operating conditions.


  • 5 – 7 years in a manufacturing, plating, or laboratory environment is a MUST
  • Ability to use an Atomic Absorbance, pH measurements, and titrations
  • Ability to plan, organizes, and document laboratory work
  • Ability to work with cross-functional Team members
  • Strong multi-tasking skills
  • Experience working with MS office software.
  • Basic knowledge of SPC
  • Ability to speak Spanish would be advantageous


  • Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Certificate Program
