Shippers are responsible for verification, final preparation of branch orders and truck loading of branch orders and/or commercial shipments.


  • Perform departmental activities per standard operating procedures, MPS, and Philosophy.
  • Ensure loads are complete per documentation and that they are on the correct delivery vehicle in the proper order.
  • Troubleshoots missing product through the manufacturing process, and expedites to ensure on time delivery.
  • Secure loads in proper fashion to minimize damage and breakage.
  • Work in a team environment, including completion of assigned tasks and assistance to other shipping or production employees as needed.
  • Maintain stocked inventory. Pull orders from stocked inventory as directed.
  • Maintain proper paperwork accounting for all shipments, noting any discrepancies.
  • Creates and executes MPS plans, meetsKPI commitments and works within the guidelines of goals; reflects Milgard'sCore Valuesin all business interactions
  • Incorporates Milgard's vision and values into day-to-day activities and behaviors; guides and motivates others to remain committed to the Milgard Core Values.
  • Adheres to all facets of safety policies and procedures.

  • Previous experience in shipping environment, particularly window manufacturing preferred
  • Glass handling and/or glass knowledge a plus.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification required.


  • High School Diploma or GED


  • Sufficient literacy to read and understand tags and route codes
  • Compute basic math problems to include fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to count to 500.
  • Good hand eye coordination and the ability to discern colors.
  • Ability to work in, and promote, a team environment.


  • Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
  • Good hand eye coordination and the ability to discern colors.
  • Required to repetitively lift up to75 lbs depending on the job.
  • Hand dexterity and strength.
  • Overtime may be required, including some weekends.


  • Work performed in a warehouse type facility with temperatures subject to normal environmental conditions
  • Hearing protection and safety glasses required, additional safety equipment provided based on specific job
  • Work surfaces are concrete. Personnel will stand while performing their respective job functions, for up to 12 hours a day
