We are hiring a Quality Supervisor to join our Operations team!

IN A NUTSHELL

As the Quality Supervisor, you will drive to meet company quality objectives by directly supervising a team of Quality Control Inspectors.  In this role, you will administer and implement departmental policies, procedures, and processes that define our quality program.  Other responsibilities will include overseeing the inspection of product at all stages of manufacturing and ensuring that all products conform to specifications using technical standards, procedures, and departmental work instructions at the Vista manufacturing plant.

IS THIS YOU?

  • Can you apply Lean principles?  Our culture places an emphasis on continuous improvement.  As a leader in Quality Control, you’ll strive to continually improve inspection processes using lean manufacturing tools such as mistake proofing, 5S, and standardized work.  This includes determining how to best solve problems through root cause analysis and targeted corrective actions.
  • Can you motivate and lead others?  As a supervisor, you will be responsible for the development and training of staff to maintain a cohesive team environment.  Other supervisory duties include but are not limited to hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving differences.
  • Can you identify non-conformances?  This position will focus on effectively implementing and running the Material Review Board (MRB).  You will utilize company resources to plan, execute, and improve the material review process by leading meetings with the responsible decision-making personnel and prioritizing material disposition with appropriate urgency.
  • Are you process driven?  You will oversee the inspection of supplied components and assemblies via the receiving (incoming) inspection process.  You will also ensure continual effectiveness of the inspection process by establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPI’s), adjusting acceptable quality levels (AQL), and improving the process flow.  You will also manage all sorting and re-inspection activities associated with non-conforming material with appropriate urgency in order to support the needs of production.
  • Can you instill and monitor quality controls?  You will work with internal auditors to coordinate all quality inspection audits such as final product, post-production, inventory, in-process manufacturing, etc.
  • Is safety your top priority?  As a team leader, you will influence and promote a safe working environment both within the quality department and the organization.  Part of your duties will include hosting daily management meetings with your direct reports to ensure all work is performed in a safe manner and free of hazards.

WHAT YOU NEED

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required.  Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Two (2) years’ experience working in a Quality department at a manufacturing facility.
  • At least two to three (2 - 3) years of demonstrated success in team leadership, managing for results, effective performance management and coaching/mentoring is required.
  • Proficient user in MS Office suite, specifically Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint.  Must be able to prepare reports, performance reviews, worksheets, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary.
  • Must be able to present information to a group of peers, managers or executives. 
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies, procedures, and engineering specifications. 
  • ERP system experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • ASQ certification such as Quality Inspector or Quality Improvement Associate is desired, but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization as well as strong ability to work in a team environment, are required to be successful in this position.
