A Quality Engineering Manager job in Tacoma, WA is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. You will have responsibility for the deployment and maintenance of a data management system that captures the performance of our window and door production lines. You must have five-plus years in a related field and three-plus years of experience in a leadership position within a manufacturing environment. Quality Engineering Manager job responsibilities include:

  • You will have responsibility for the deployment and maintenance of a data management system that captures the performance of our window and door production lines.
  • Responsible for the development, deployment, and maintenance of internal metrics in our seven Western United States manufacturing operations.
  • Responsible for the implementation of improvements at the source methodology by identifying gaps and developing improvement plans.
  • Responsible for all aspects of a corporate-wide program
  • Develop corporate QA department standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain product standards.
  • Analyze metrics and perform periodic reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close the gaps.
  • Work with Plant peers and Technicians to document trends in QA, compare against customer expectations/standards, regulatory standards, and plant goals.
  • Resolve product issues as communicated from our manufacturing facilities, by examining and interpreting specifications and correcting value references.
  • Direct and facilitate the collection and analysis of data.

Qualifications:

  • Three plus years of experience in a leadership position within a manufacturing environment.
  • Five plus years in a related field
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing technology, including materials, manufacturing processes and sequencing, customer requirements and fitness for use.
  • The ability to travel to our manufacturing operations. An estimate of 50% travel.
  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline. Proffered Mechanical Engineering.
  • Lean Six-Sigma or Lean Black Belt certification desired.
