Purpose:

The Product Engineer should be a highly motivated, confident professional with a commitment to succeed. You will design and develop completely new products from concept to introduction. Additionally, your role as a Product Engineer will include identifying and implementing cost-reduction opportunities and product improvements. You will have a deep understanding of engineering design and manufacturing fundamentals and be an expert on your multi-functional team. You will help shape a fast growing and changing area of Delta's business.

Responsibilities:

This Bathing Product Engineer designs, develops, and implements new designs, quality improvements, value engineering efforts, and product customizations to satisfy customer and market needs for thermoformed and molded bathing products.

  • Take responsibility for the design, development and implementation of new products to meet customer needs
  • Implement product quality improvements, cost reductions and product modifications for changing market, vendor and manufacturing needs
  • Innovate, collaboratively and independently, on new designs requiring new materials, unique industrial designs and challenging manufacturing processes
  • Lead the product development team in design coordination and control
  • Own the verification and validation testing plans for your projects
  • Execute new parts and assemblies through pilot runs, PPAP, and launch.
  • Teams with functional areas such as Marketing, Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and external suppliers to identify and achieve project goals.
  • Occasionally travel to external vendors and Delta manufacturing facilities to assist with product and tooling development
  • Collaborate with the Product Engineering Manager to improve efficiency and execution


Education & Experience:

As an interested individual, you should have:

  • Earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology along with 2-5 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing
  • Mechanical background with experience in product development, design, and manufacturing
  • Familiarity with plastic materials including various forming technologies and related assembly.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office, and 3D CAD software.
