JOB SUMMARY:


Responsible for all phases of assigned engineering projects, ensuring the successful conclusion of
all phases within an appropriate time and at appropriate cost. Implements process improvements to
meet quality standards, performs feasibility studies and solves problems.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Identify and lead projects, and project teams, to resolve manufacturing issues to meet its business goals and objectives.
  • Identify and implement improvements to production processes and equipment to improve quality and reduce production costs.
  • Complete engineering projects as assigned to resolve technical issues throughout the facility.
  • Develop, and/or support the specification and installation of capital equipment.
  • Provide daily shop floor support in the areas of machine operation, set-up , troubleshooting, safety, process improvements and ergonomics.
  • Work with personnel throughout MASCO Cabinetry to implement company-wide best practices which can include product and equipment design, operation improvements, data output and display improvements, safety upgrades, etc.
  • Drive electrical and electronic system standardization throughout the facility.
  • Train and develop personnel in electrical fields with respect to codes and regulations.
  • Design, develop and test various tools, machinery and equipment for improving manufacturing methods.
  • Actively promote and participate in the continuous improvement program, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma process.
  • Participate in technical discussions with suppliers.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in field and trade journals.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% including international.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or System Engineering or related field.
  • 3 years engineering experience in a high volume, fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Excellent technical skills in manufacturing processes and methods including PLC and electrical drive programming, Analog and Digital I/O, sensors, equipment integration and automation, control schemes, etc.

  • Hands on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to support smooth flow, standardized work, and waste elimination. 

  • Ability to read, interpret and create CAD prints and schematics is required.
  • Working knowledge of general measuring equipment is required (Calipers, Micrometers, Multimeters, Megger, signal generators, etc).
  • In-depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CAD.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:


  • Successful experience in automating processes.
  • Experience in installing and upgrading precision equipment and automation.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification or comparable problem solving certification.
  • Ability to speak and understand German and/or Italian.

  • BS in Wood Engineering and/or knowledge in the wood processing industry is a considerable plus.

  • CNC programming knowledge and/or experience.
