What you will bring:

  • 5 years’ progressive experience in a payroll position with at least two in a supervisory role
  • Work experience in a manufacturing environment with a unionized workforce
  • CPA Designation, Certified Payroll Management Certification (CPM), Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification (CPA), or equivalent
  • Experience with implementing new payroll and time & attendance systems
  • Solid finance background
  • Strong analytical capabilities with attention to detail
  • Excel, Word, Presentation and Training Skills

What you will do:

Payroll Management

  • Supervise Masco Canada Payroll functions; Manage Payroll changes and updates. 
  • Provide guidance, assistance and back-up support to payroll team members
  • Keep up with ongoing Government Requirements.
  • Review and Approve Bi-Weekly Payroll Reports and Transactions.
  • Work directly with several Intercompany contacts regarding Payroll Actions and Monthly Cross charges.
  • Review of online remittances Source Deductions, Pensions, RRSP, Bonds.
  • Pension payments, year End Reconciliation for T4’s, EHT and WSIB filing.
  • Provide calculations and costs for various scenarios presented.
  • Review and Maintain Masco Canada internal control documents relating to Payroll.

  • Review Final payroll register, earnings, deductions and GL distribution reports.

  • Co-ordinate weekly labour review with people leaders.
  • Responsible to prepare and distribute departmental audits on a quarterly basis for approvals.


  • Assist with Annual budget preparation for Salary and Labour Expenses.
  • Responsible for 30+ Payroll and Labour related Balance Sheet Account Analysis.
  • Review and approve Payroll related account reconciliations.
  • Intercompany Purchases Report
  • Annual Stewardship Ontario and Quebec EEQ Filing, Manitoba, BC, & Sask. Stewardship
  • Manage auto insurance renewals and License renewal follow-up.
  • Company Credit Card administration
