We are hiring a Manufacturing Supervisor to join our Operations team!

IN A NUTSHELL

As the Manufacturing Supervisor, you are responsible for meeting daily production goals through proper planning while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.  In this role, you will supervise the day-to-day activities of a production team to include, but not limited to hiring, scheduling, training, motivating, appraising performance, addressing complaints and resolving problems in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures and processes as well as applicable laws.  In this role, you are looked to as the example for promoting safety, quality, productivity, and maintaining positive morale.

IS THIS YOU?

  • Do you enjoy manufacturing operations?  In order to meet daily productivity goals, you will direct the day-to-day activities of assigned production staff by reviewing production schedules, material and manpower resources.  You’ll establish and/or adjust work priorities and procedures to meet production schedules as well as coordinate daily work schedules according to production requirements.  You’ll also be responsible for delegating tasks and assigning duties to your leads and team.   
  • Do you possess strong leadership qualities?  You will provide guidance to department staff, leads, and production employees to help resolve work problems.  Part of your role also includes preparing performance reviews, establishing individual and departmental goals, and initiating or suggesting plans to motivate production employees to achieve established goals.  Other duties will include processing timecards for payroll and maintaining time and attendance records.
  • Can you communicate effectively?  You will keep employees informed of company policies, safety rules, job responsibilities, procedures, specifications, and work orders to ensure safety, quality, and production standards are met per work instructions and company objectives.       
  • Are you quality driven?  As a leader in the organization, you’ll provide recommendations to improve safety, production methods, equipment performance, and the quality of product as well as changes in working conditions.  You’ll also make use of equipment to increase the efficiency of your department.  Other duties will include generating and maintaining production logs.
  • Are you a team player?  You will be expected to attend daily production staff meetings, safety meetings, and other meetings as required.  This will include working with a variety of departments (e.g. Engineering, Materials Control, Quality, People Strategy and Services and Management).

WHAT YOU NEED

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Associate degree preferred.
  • At least two (2) years of direct supervisory experience leading a team working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with demonstrated success in team leadership, managing for results, effective performance management, coaching/mentoring, and familiarity with basic California employment practice and safety regulations. 
  • Experienced user in Microsoft Office including MS Outlook, MS Excel, and MS Word.  Must be able to prepare reports, performance reviews, worksheets, charts, schedules, procedures, and other data as necessary. 
  • Must be able to present information to a group of peers, supervisors, managers or higher-level executives. 
  • Ability to use judgement to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required. 
  • Forklift operating experience with the ability to be certified is desired.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization as well as strong ability to work in a team environment, are required to be successful in this position.
