Brasstech, a subsidiary of the Fortune 500 Masco Corporation, is a leading manufacturer of decorative high-end plumbing fixtures.  We are looking for a Maintenance Technician III.

The Maintenance Technician III will Under the direction of the Maintenance Lead the Maintenance Technician III is expected to have very strong mechanical and technical skills and to work with little or no supervision while performing complex maintenance on equipment necessary for the operation of CNC and Finishing equipment.  Technical skills include:

CNC Controls, Servo Drives, Feedback Systems, PLC Evaluation Troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing CNC control and process controls Safe working knowledge and skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and a safe working knowledge of all electrical equipment and systems up to 480 volts 3 phase. 

Job responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Essential functions include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of oneself and all co-workers.
  • Inspect plant machinery and provide recommendations for repair
  • Perform necessary trouble shooting and repairs for lathes and mills (CNC and Manual), Finishing (PVD, Plating and Powder Coat) equipment, etc.
  • Proper care and maintenance of machinery and work areas
  • Ability to diagnose machine problems, and repair machines including disassembly, part identification, ordering or fabricating, and reassemble as necessary in a clean, efficient and workmanlike manner
  • Operate equipment such as boom-lifts, cranes, forklifts, and other related mobile equipment
  • Work with electric, hydraulic and pneumatic tools, equipment and conveyor systems.
  • Repair and replace motors.
  • Create a parts list and obtain pricing for parts.
  • Maintain supply inventory.
  • Write Purchase Orders.
  • Complete necessary documentation on completed tasks.
  • Discern applicable information from blueprints, schematics and equipment manuals.
  • Clean, change, and lubricate bearings, gears, and other machinery parts using rags, brushes, and grease gun.
  • Maintain tools and machinery in good condition and use tools and equipment carefully as instructed.
  • Assist in keeping accurate preventive maintenance records.
  • Keeps work area clean and performs housekeeping duties as required.
  • Performs related work and other job assignments as required.
  • Test and maintain, and evaluate equipment performance using instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers and pressure gauges.
  • Proficiently operate a forklift and capable to safely move equipment.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts, if required, including on call

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Must have knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of motors and controls with certification or 5 years’ experience in two or more of the following:
    • PLC Controllers / CNC Equipment / Hydraulics / Pneumatics / 480V-3ph / 110v-1ph
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work with hands in mechanically oriented situations.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, as well as interpret sketches and diagrams.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Must have valid driver license, and evidence of insurance as will be required to travel to different sites.
  • Understands how to read SDS.

Physical demand – working conditions & environment

  • Highly physical job requiring standing, walking, carrying equipment/tools, climbing ladder, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, kneeling, overhead work, crouching, etc.
  • Working in manufacturing environment which includes noise from metal turning and milling, humid environment from plating and wash tanks and indoor and outdoor work including work on roof top equipment.
  • Exposure to dust, metals, solvents, chemical solutions, etc.
  • Work schedule will fluctuate depending on company needs and equipment status.Request to work overtime, including weekends, may be a last minute determination
  • Require face, foot, eye, hand, and/or hearing protection while on shop floor and any other required PPE
