Job Summary:

Exciting Internal Audit summer internship opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of building products in the kitchen and bath segment.  The purpose of the internship is to provide meaningful, professional hands-on experience to students with proven academic performance and leadership potential.  Interns will have the opportunity for meaningful contribution to the host department’s business objectives while experiencing personal professional development. 

The Internal Audit internship will be based in Ann Arbor, MI at Masco Cabinetry’s Headquarters.  The Intern’s primary role will be to work with the team on daily activities such as testing SOX and operational control testing and interacting with business process owners.

The Intern will have the potential opportunity to work on the following types of projects:

  • Partner with business process owners to drive an efficient and sustainable control environment.
  • Ensure all key ICFR documentation for the company to reflect current business processes.
  • Perform internal control testing and identify audit deficiencies and process improvements.
  • Perform operational or compliance testing activities to support new business opportunities or changes in current process.
  • Provide information and supporting documentation for Masco Corporate Internal Audit and external auditors to meet all their requirements.
  • Scan and file audit workpapers and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor audit deficiencies and help develop remediation plans.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

  • Enrolled in program to acquire Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or related field.
  • Proficient computer skills required including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to organize and prioritize work to ensure timely deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and decision making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Leadership experience, including involvement in related student organizations
  • Previous related internship experience
