Mercury Plastics is seeking an HRBP to be located in Middlefield, Ohio. The Human Resources Business Partner will support the Human Resource Director functioning as a Senior Generalist. Employee Relations is a critical function of this role and requires an individual who is approachable, responsive, proactive, and trustworthy. This role acts as a Business Partner to managers of non-exempt direct reports and, through understanding of business and HR strategy provided by the Director of Human Resources, offers support and guidance. The HRBP will be the HRIS lead for the business, using various systems to maintain an up to date employee database, extract data to support the business, and provide results against HR performance metrics.


  • Build collaborative relationships with managers of non-exempt direct reports to ensure ability to support training, development, performance coaching, and compensation recommendations.
  • Actively focus on employee relations and supporting a culture of collaboration and team environment.
  • Act as the subject matter expert of HRIS systems. Extract and format employee data to help business leaders analyze productivity, turnover, and hiring trends.
  • Participate in improvement initiatives of HR services and processes with a focus of lean, efficient, and productive flow. 
  • Understand the business environment well enough to provide solutions to employment needs for both managers and employees; while ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Work as an extension to the Director of Human Resources to facilitate essential training directed toward front line leadership.
  • Guide managers and employees regarding Company policies, values, HR programs administration and interpretation to ensure policies and procedures are handled consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Lead the recruiting process and support HR strategies to attract, select, reward, train and motivate of all non-exempt team members.
  • Use communication boards, e-sign, employee meetings, and time spent on the shop floor to reach all non-exempt employees. Willingness to shift schedule to spend time on all off shifts is critical.
  • Act as a subject matter expert regarding leave programs, unemployment claims, return to work process, as well as other health related programs offered through Masco benefit programs.
  • Facilitate employee engagement activities; both current and through identifying new opportunities.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably with a Human Resource concentration.
  • 4 years of Human Resources Generalist experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Excellent computer skills a must, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) tools, reporting and analysis.
  • Knowledge of applicable employment laws including FMLA, Worker Compensation, Equal Employment Opportunity, ADA, etc.
  • Maintains trust, company values and demands the highest standards of conduct from self and others.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated successful capability to resolve conflict over sensitive or complex issues.

  • Experience working with WorkDay.
  • Experience working with Kronos.
  • Professional Human Resource Certification (PHR).
  • Exposure to Six Sigma and other continuous improvement tools.
