Position Overview:

Summer internship available within the tax department at the Masco Corporate offices located in Livonia, Michigan.  This internship provides a great learning opportunity around U.S. tax accounting.  You will work with federal tax accountants in the preparation of tax accounting projects to be completed outside of federal compliance season.

Hiring Requirement:

The student must be able to provide a current transcript (unofficial) indicating he/she is enrolled at a University and pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (already have obtained a minimum 120 credits or greater) in Accounting or an MST or MBA.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work on various tax accounting related projects
  • Learn software utilized for reporting of fixed assets
  • Prepare quarterly tax estimates
  • Prepare state tax depreciation adjustment schedules
  • Research and document U.S. Federal Tax Laws using CCH/RIA
  • Effectively and professionally communicate both orally and in writing with personnel at various Business Units to gather required financial or tax related information
  • Prepare electronic work papers (using Adobe Acrobat (pdf)) to document and support all calculations performed
  • Work with Tax team on process improvement project related to the year-end fixed asset reporting package, including template build, testing, etc.
  • Utilize information technology tools (Excel, etc.) to work efficiently and meet all deadlines

    Skill Requirements:

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel
  • Overall GPA of 2.8 or higher
  • Major GPA of 3.0 or higher
