A Director of Information Technology job in Fife, WA is available at Milgard Windows and Doors. Ideal candidate profile will have Six plus years of senior-level management with hands-on administrator experience, maintaining and managing 24/7 data center infrastructure and networks. Along with 15 years of IT experience with increasing responsibility. In this role you will be responsible for managing budget, forecast, staff, recommends strategy, plans projects, and oversees the operation and maintenance of IT systems and networks. Milgard Windows & Doors is the leading manufacturer of windows and doors in the Western United States with operations in Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, and Texas.

Director of Information Technology job responsibilities include:

  • Develop the company strategy and technology road-map for the technology infrastructure by researching trends and directions, understanding business strategy and specifying how this technology can be used to support or accelerate company strategy.
  • Developing strategic operations and investment plans that weight costs, benefits, opportunities and risks of various IT investment approaches.
  • Implement current business projects that include Software Deployments, VOIP, Network, DR, ERP Upgrades and/or Rollouts.
  • Implement and integrate risk management and disaster recovery procedures across the enterprise, based on a thorough understanding of key IT services that must be maintained to reduce financial loss and critical customer service capability.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT operations, network services, cyber-security, business process analysis, and IT Steering Committee processes that are critical to very diverse operations and business functions of Milgard
  • Establishes schedules and procedures for maximum utilization of staff, hardware, software, and facilities. Coordinates cross-functional activities between IT and other Milgard departments.
  • Program Management skills with the ability to create complex project plans, KPI's, justify the projects and metrics to executives while identifying the risks and then execute the plan on schedule and on budget.
  • This person develops relationships and collaborates with the partnered business stakeholders and is responsible for managing the IT roadmap with a short term and long-term plan.
  • Conducts salary and performance reviews of individuals under his/her jurisdiction as well as tasks related to budgeting and audit procedures required by Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Accountable for the IT departmental budget to review and manage purchasing, billing, budgeting, and scheduling of resources to ensure contracts are paid accordingly and to identify contracts that can be updated or re-negotiated for possibly lower fees.
  • Supervises all members of Help desk, IT Infrastructure, and Operations group.

Qualifications Required:

  • Six plus years of senior-level management with hands-on administrator experience, maintaining and managing 24/7 data center infrastructure and networks. Experience overseeing data centers in-house and in the cloud required. The current environment is a combination of Oracle Unix, IBM iSeries and Intel-based VM servers.
  • 15 years of IT experience with increasing responsibility
  • Five plus years' experience managing Oracle EBS ERP
  • Experience managing a data center in a co-location facility is required.
  • Management and oversight of enterprise contracts with major IT vendors such as Cisco, Oracle, Microsoft, etc. involving complex licensing structures and value in the range of $500k-$5M per year required.
  • An understanding of ITIL or other service management framework is a plus.
  • Strong process and documentation background are required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge or prior oversight with the following technologies currently in use at Milgard is preferred:
    • Windows Server
    • Windows Clustering
    • Unix/Linux experience required; iSeries experience is a plus.
    • MSSQL/Oracle databases
    • IIS / Weblogic
    • Network Security
    • Service-Oriented Architecture
    • Active Directory & Group Policies
    • VMware ESX

  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in computer science (preferred) or related commensurate work experience
