Job scope/ summary

• Responsible for management of the Demand Forecast

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate and maintain the tactical demand plan (forecast) for finished goods (manufactured and purchased)by location on a monthly basis this may include:
  • Loading sales history, generating master data by preparing planning areas and characteristic value combinations;
  • Identifying appropriate forecasting methods and maintaining associated forecast selection parameters, generating statistical forecast;
  • Reviewing and resolving any alerts generated by the system
  • Generating and maintaining the item/location unit forecast for the entire planning horizon ; and
  • Making adjustments to the system generated forecast based on information from sales or system generated alerts and releasing the reviewed demand plan to SNP and MRP in R/3.

• Record and report forecast accuracy. Based on results identify action plans to continually search for ways to improve forecast accuracy.

• Generate ad-hoc analysis to identify and report trends and anomalies. As requested assemble the ad-hoc analysis in a clear and concise report format for review by various managers and departments

• Develop presentations for senior management and lead projects as assigned

• Partner with the finance team to assist with the generation of the annual budget as requested.

• Coordinate and facilitate cross-functional communication surrounding demand requirements.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION

BA with concentration in a quantitative statistics or operations/supply chain preferred

2-5 years experience in forecasting or demand planning preferred

SAP experience preferred – SCM, BW/BI, Business Objects knowledge a huge plus

KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES

Must attain CPF certification within first 2 years of employment

Strong quantitative analytical skills

Strong data assimilation skills

Advanced PC skills including MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Strong oral and written communication/presentation skills

Ability to work with various functional disciplines that interact with the supply chain dept

Managerial skill base for future role in a supervisory position as a member of the demand planning team

Facilitation skills in leading meeting of various business disciplines in S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning)
