Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Planning and Forecasting, the Customs and Freight Assistant performs routine administrative activities related to customs, NAFTA and Freight management.

What you will do:

  • Complete requests for NAFTA certificates
  • Solicit, review and verify NAFTA certificates from suppliers
  • Review and update current and new Tariff codes
  • Establish HTS Classification and duty rates for new products
  • Document management for such items as Origin certificates, Customs and Brokerage documents
  • Freight Bill account coding
  • Track and Trace Shipments - Courier, Road, Ocean, Air modes
  • Maintain and manage Brokerage information relating to vendors and products to ensure a high level of data accuracy
  • Perform secondary customs records audits to ensure continued compliance
  • Contribute to the TCP process on behalf of the Logistics group
  • Maintain and create insights from transit dashboards to support the supply chain

What you will bring:

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in Customs or Traffic Management
  • JDE or similar ERP software experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word)
  • Excellent interpersonal and effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Customs Professional Certificate or Certified Logistics Professional is preferred
  • University degree or college diploma in business management preferred
  • Progressing towards or completion of Certified Logistics Professional or Customs Professional is preferred
