We are seeking a Configuration Control Coordinator to join our Configuration Control team!


Do you have experience ensuring accurate changes of complex systems?  As the Configuration Control Coordinator, you will perform all functions of the Configuration Control process, including: Change Requests (CR), Change Orders (CO), New Part Numbers, Temporary Deviations, Bill of Materials (BOMs), etc. related to Engineering.  This position reports to the Configuration Control Sr. Manager and allows you to work independently while also working alongside a strong team.


  • Are you analytical? You will review and analyze all Change Requests, assess the impact of change/s to other functions, confirm proper structure of BOMs, coordinate implementation and disposition of parts.  This position is responsible for processing all documentation changes related to Watkins’ Quality Management System (QMS) and Sarbanes-Oxley processes.
  • Are you organized and detail oriented? You’ll ensure, through sound verification processes, that all Change Order packages are complete and accurate.  You will also process, route and monitor expiration dates and extensions for all Temporary Deviations as well as maintain Item/Part and BOMs in the Materials Requirement Planning (MRP) system.
  • Are you well versed in reporting? You’ll draft reports and presentations as well as create, maintain and modify reports/metrics, training material and presentations as directed. You will provide weekly and biweekly reports for Change Order processes. You will also be responsible for the distribution of Binder documentation to Vista, TP1 and TP2 (Mexico) locations.
  • Are you quality focused? You will participate in audits, which may include verifying the accuracy of documents such as drawings, work instructions and BOMs used in production.
  • Can you train others? You will assist supervisors in the creation and submission of Change Requests, explaining the process and answering any questions. In addition, you’ll perform Configuration Management (CM) training as required.
  • Are you a strong communicator? You’ll facilitate communication by phone and email between affected departments (Engineering, Production, Quality, others) to ensure Change Order related tasks are completed in a timely manner.


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Associate Degree preferred.
  • Three to five (3 – 5) years’ experience in Configuration or Document Control Management or equivalent combination of technical education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in configuration and document control management good practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as Engineering Drawing, BOMs, safety rules, owner’s operating and service procedure manuals.
  • Experience in BOM development and auditing.
  • Proficiency using MS Office applications; Access and Visio are desired.
  • Experience with ERP software such as Navision.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong ability to work in a team environment.
