    Color Services is responsible for color palette creation and the procurement of photography to be used for color selection tools both in-store, online and in social media channels. We are focused on creating color palette programs and both inspirational and educational photography that will help consumers more easily find their color and increase paint sales.  This position focuses on the Behr DIY, Behr Pro, Kilz and Magnolia paint brands. The team supports The Home Depot and various retail channels serviced by Diversified Channels and International business units. The successful candidate will have a strong background in palette development, color applications, interior design and set building, photography principles, trend research, data analysis, retail experience, talent development, financial management, strategic thinking, relationship-building and decision making. 


    • Oversee photography and video creation to be used for collateral, signage, website, social media and editorial use.
    • Direct set design and photography creation for in-house photo studio.
    • Assist annual photography budget planning with VP and business teams.
    • Provide color and design expertise for color palette development, new marketing programs, retail experiences, trade show programs, PR and advertising initiatives.


    • Manage and oversee the organization’s total spend for photography and video projects.
    • Direct the planning, development and implementation of photography and video through the coordination of internal resources and overseeing 3rd party studio vendors.
    • Point of contact for all outside studio resources.
    • Provide photo shoot timelines, project cost summaries and explain variances to budget.
    • Collaborate with Marketing Shared Services (Brand, Digital, Graphics) and product managers in the development and delivery of content related to color, design and how-to projects.
    • Engage with Brand team to ensure photo shoots adhere to brand and sub-brand guidelines for both interior and exterior Behr and Kilz imagery.
    • Manage in-studio set building, prop procurement and photography needs.
      Help create workflows for in-studio efficiencies, storage, safety and maintenance.
    • Coordinate photography uploads from studios into DAM system.
    • Strategic involvement with Marketing Shared Services and other internal business verticals.
    • Support PR initiatives with media relation activities.
    • Collaboration with The Home Depot trend team and merchants on color and design alignments for trends, press events.
    • Manage the development of direct reports and ensure proper utilization of talent to fit business needs.
    • Listen, communicate and collaborate extensively across the organization. Foster strong relationships with co-workers, internal and external customers, suppliers and support teams.
    • Assist in development of color training modules for Customer Care, national sales trainers and Pro markets.

    Experience to include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Masters degree preferred

  • 10+ year’s experience working in the home decorating industry

  • 5-10 years color palette development

  • 5-10 years interior design and/or set design experience

  • 5 years management experience, including developing direct reports

  • Experience leading teams and working cross-functionally

  • Experience organizing projects from start to finish

  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, project management software

  • Public speaking engagements
