We are hiring a Assistant Manager, Production Planner to join our Production Control team!


The Assistant Manager, Production Planner is a newly created position that can also lead to further advancement.  This position plans the production of spas in a hybrid repetitive/build to order manufacturing environment while also supervising a team of Production Planners.  This position requires use of analytical and quantitative methods to ensure all production lines and service parts are planned to meet the company’s production and inventory goals.  Under general direction of the Production Control Manager, this position will plan, prepare and report the Spas/Accessories Master Schedule.  Another main responsibility is to establish and adjust safety stock levels for finished items.  We are looking for a self-starter with a desire to learn, achieve and grow in a rigorous, production environment.


  • Are you a resourceful planner?  As part of the Production Control team, you will create multi-level production schedules for several production lines that support shipping demand and release by deadlines.
  • Do you have strong leadership skills?  You’ll equally have responsibility for supervising direct reports, which will include: communicating job expectations, monitoring and appraising job results, coaching, maintaining, initiating, and enforcing systems policies and procedures, counseling and disciplining when needed.
  • Are you a critical thinker?  Another area you’ll spend your time is assisting the manager in analyzing supply/demand dynamics and determining recommended build rates for spas, service and accessory items.
  • Do you look for ways to ensure data integrity?  This will involve processing, routing, and monitoring production orders through completion, which may include performing backflush functions, serial number assignment/correction, inventory movements and adjustments within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.  You’ll also be responsible for ERP system data integrity on Item and SKU Cards.  This will entail creating and maintaining manufacturing setup logic - routings, work centers, locations, bins, capacities, backflush points.
  • Can you write technical reports?  You’ll often develop, maintain, prepare and communicate daily/weekly/monthly department reporting such as backlog to inventory analysis, shortage reports, open production order reports, and work-in-progress (WIP) reports.
  • Can you work cross-functionally?  You can also expect to participate in the company’s New Product Introduction (NPI) program by supporting planning activities such as E&O analyses, transition plans, line change analyses, and product release schedules as well as scheduling and tracking spas for showrooms, Engineering and Marketing events.  You’ll additionally review and approve change orders (COs), temporary deviations (TDs) and new item setup, ensuring compliance in production bill of material (BOM) structure and ERP setup.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Materials Management, or related field preferred.
  • At least three years’ related experience.  The equivalent combination of education and/or related experience may be considered.
  • High proficiency level in Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Experience using ERP/MRP (Enterprise Resource Planning/Materials Resource Planning) software.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and understand fundamentals of algebra.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization as well as strong ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Must be willing and able to make periodic visits to the company’s manufacturing facilities in Tijuana, MX.
