The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the preparation/reconciliation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. This position will act as Internal Control Manager (ICM) and independently manage the documentation, testing and reporting of internal controls for SOX purposes.  Using independent judgment, will recommend, design, and implement controls approved by management based on department objectives. Additionally, the Supervisor will ensure processes, policies, and procedures are not only enforced, but also be the champion for Brasstech’s ethical and behavior based culture within the department.


  • Analyze trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred, to predict and report future revenues and expenses. 
  • Research and resolution of any outstanding issues/large fluctuations concerning month end financial statement preparation.
  • As ICM, research and application of accounting standards with an emphasis in implementing and documenting internal control procedures related to Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Identify potential opportunities through cost analysis.
  • Offer suggestions on resource utilization, tax strategies, accounting procedures, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts.
  • Prepare data, analyses, and variance explanations to support management decision making.
  • Support the sales and marketing departments with required reporting including incentive program management.
  • Actively review accounting processes and suggest methods for continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as required (i.e. audit and tax reporting, record retention, budget preparation, payroll support, etc.).


  • Manage designated staff accountant(s) within the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring for the position.


Educations and/or Experience

  • BA/BS with an emphasis in Accounting/Finance
  • 4-6 years of experience within related field is required
  • Manufacturing and internal control management experience a plus


  • Demonstrate a solid grasp of business concepts, quantitative and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to use independent and realistic judgment to analyze and solve key components of job and to communicate findings and issues to management
  • Ability to maintain data integrity and accuracy
  • Ability to use data to identify and solve problems
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple tasks within a defined time period
  • Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely
  • Display a comprehensive understanding of internal controls
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with others

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Advanced MS Excel (VLOOKUP function, sorting and filtering data)
  • Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) or Infor Syteline experience a plus

Language Skills

  • English (reading, writing, verbal)

Mathematical Skills

  • Mathematical proficiency

Other Skills

  • Must be able to work flexible schedule, which may include weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to legally work without sponsorship for employment visa status.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. This is a largely sedentary role; however, standing and walking up and down stairs will be required. The employee will occasionally be required to complete some filing. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. This position may require reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally lift up to 20 pounds for files and computer printouts.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee will work in an office environment or enclosed office space; and can be exposed to a warehouse environment on a frequent basis. The ambient conditions are moderate, and the noise level in the work environment is moderate.
