Responsible for ensuring the company's financial results are reported accurately, timely and in compliance with GAAP and other accounting regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
§ Direct and lead activities that support financial reporting, such as: proper General Ledger maintenance, proper transaction accounting, month end close processes, financial analysis, internal control monitoring and evaluation and process improvement.
§ Establish, or recommend to management, major corporate economic strategies, objectives, and policies for company.
§ Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
§ Direct preparation of budgets, review budget proposals, and prepare necessary supporting documentation and justification.
§ Provide management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
§ Authorize decisions and take action related to: accounting treatment, accounting policy and procedure, time management, project management, purchases not exceeding $50,000, and process improvement initiatives.
Manages a total of four employees in the Accounting Department, including Payroll. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent. Seven years experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager including a minimum of two years experience in a Director level role; or ten years of Accounting Management experience. MBA preferred.
